The Testing by: Joelle Charbonneau

Writing Prompt: Outline
When outlining something, you are creating a brief description.
• Outline the important events of what you are reading.
• Outline the plot.
• Using outline form, describe what is needed for an effective poem or book

This book is about a girl named Cia Vale and she was doing really well in school and she was really smart. Since she is smart she was selected to The Testing. It is a series of test to show that you are able to survive and see if you are smart enough to build upon the future generations. One of the people gets to be the leader of Commonsworth. That is only if you were the top overall in The Testing, if you just pass The Testing you are able to go to a University for college.

The plot in this book is that the Testing is hard place to be at and Cia might not come back home because if she does well she is just going to be helping out on making a new and better generation. Also that no knows or remembers how The Testing is because they brainwash all the memories you had from The Testing so they can't tell anyone about it or cheat so, Cia's dad doesn't want her to go because he wants to see her again and he doesn't want her to get hurt. Cia doesn't know what is coming up in The Testing.

What is needed for a effective book is a good plot because you want to make sure the reader is interested when he/she starts to read. A brief introduction because you don't want your reader to be lost or not understand what is happening. Also a like a conclusion but lead into I believe that is called the falling action so you can maintain the readers attention. Finally a conclusion to resolve the plot or have a new beginning if you are going to make a new book.

  1. Sebastian- Your content is interesting to read about The Testing. However, you have several errors and run-on sentences that make it challenging to understand what you are trying to say. Please revise.
